As the older adult population in the United States grows year over year, the demand for healthcare professionals in long-term care is also increasing. But this isn't unique to the U.S. According to the World Population Prospects Report in 2022, the global population above 65 years old is projected to double by 2050, equating to about 1.6 billion older adults.
Careers in Aging Month is dedicated to highlighting the vast opportunities available to professionals who have a passion for serving the older adult population, including disciplines such as long-term care management and administration, research, dietary planning, dining services and hospitality, social work, advocacy and more. The theme of Careers in Aging Month 2024 is "Passion, Purpose, Possibilities."
