Meet Paige, Travel Nurse Recruiter

Written by LS Admin | Jul 29, 2021

Meet Paige Anderson, Travel Nurse Recruiter! Paige works in our South Carolina office with our travel nurse team and works with nurses across the country to find them their next perfect assignment. We recently asked Paige some questions about her role at LeaderStat as well as about her very first job.

1. How long have you been with LeaderStat?

I have been with LeaderStat since February 2020, almost a year a half.

2. What is your position and what are your primary responsibilities?

I’m a travel nurse recruiter and my job is to find great acute care nurses for 13-week contracts across the country.

3. Tell us what your typical day looks like.

I start in the morning catching up on emails and checking on current nurses submitted out and check in with my nurses in the field if needed. Then I finish any profiles that need to be submitted. Finally, I source on for new candidates! Of course, sometimes meetings are sprinkled in there such as the D&I committee meeting.

4. What do you love most about your job?

I love talking to people and helping them find the perfect job!

5. What do you enjoy least?

I don’t like reformatting resumes. Hurts my head!

6. Tell us about a great experience one of your travel nurses has had.

One of my nurses in Atlanta and I hit it off and she sent me a picture of her baby the day she was born! She worked in downtown ATL as a COVID ICU nurse and did an amazing job. She rocks and I love the relationships I’m able to build with my nurses!

7. What’s the most frequently asked question you get asked by travel nurses and what is your answer?

I get asked about the taxed versus non-taxed money and I explain to them how the stipend works and that non-taxed money is a big benefit of travel nursing as long as you’re duplicating your expenses!

8. What’s the very first job you had (that’s not on your resume) and what did you learn from the experience?

My first job was as a camp counselor at my church summer camp. I learned how much I love kids through this experience, and that’s part of what led me to major in elementary education in college. I want to work with kids again someday as a counselor!

9. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Time travel! I would love to go back in time and into the future.

10. What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends – pre-COVID-19 and during COVID-19?

My favorite thing to do on the weekends is either going to the beach with friends or hang with my dog at dog-friendly bars like The Barrel in Charleston that is basically a big dog park with a bar and food truck included!

Thanks, Paige, for taking the time to answer our questions and for all you do to help our amazing travel nurses have the best experience possible with each and every assignment!
