We are excited to share an interview we recently had with Chris Welen, Consultant Specialist Manager. Chris excels at building relationships with LeaderStat interim consultants and guiding them through the onboarding process. In our interview, he talks about his position and what's on his Spotify playlist.
1. How long have you been with LeaderStat?
I’ve been with LeaderStat for just over one year.
2. Tell us about your position with LeaderStat (mention your first role as well as your current role) and about your previous healthcare experience.
I was born and raised in Sweden but had the opportunity to attend University here in the US through a Bilateral Exchange Program. Long story short, I met the love of my life, finished my MBA, and started to work in senior housing. During my 11 years of experience in the field, I’ve been a Server, Office Manager, and Marketing Manager before starting with LeaderStat. I started here as a Consultant Specialist but had the opportunity to advance into the Consultant Specialist Manager role as of recent.
3. What are your primary responsibilities?
My primary responsibilities consist of supporting interim consultants in the field, as well as supporting the Consultant Specialist team to ensure all customer needs are met.
4. What does your typical day look like?
I tend to describe my days as a whirlwind of decision-making and problem-solving. With hundreds of consultants in the field, there’s a lot that can happen when it comes to compliance, travel, HR, and payroll.
5. What do you love most about your job?
It’s super exciting to be part of a process with so many moving pieces at the same time. Furthermore, doing this for the greater good of the residents we serve, clients we support, with a team that is constantly growing, learning, and getting smarter, is all very rewarding.
6. What do you enjoy least?
It’s never fun to have to share bad news or feedback.
7. If you could only have three musicians or bands on your Spotify playlist, who would they be?
Well, three musicians would be too tricky, but two playlists I currently run on Spotify would be my Swedish music (Swedish rap, techno, and Eurovision song contest) and Workout music (Techno and Reggaeton).
8. What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
I love to be busy, so if it’s working out, house projects, or family outings, I’m all for it!
Thanks, Chris, for all you do to help our interim consultants be successful while on assignment. Now we have to check out that Eurovision song contest playlist you were talking about!
